Fourth of July ~ Fireworks, Stargazing, Campfire

On our return from a refreshing, incredible weekend away, Gary and I met up with the family in Placerville at the the annual 4th of July auction. As usual, Mom bid on some great deals and landed some nice dressers, an armoir, and a number of other useful treasures.

After the auction, we went back to the cabins for some relaxation on the patio and a BBQ - after which we loaded up the Jeeps and drove into Placerville for the annual fireworks.

Grayson in his new Iron Man jammies from Auntie Lassa, blankie in tow, of course.

Dave, Gordon, and Joey take in the pyromania - Gary and Grayson are behind Joey.

I love Gordy's smile.

Due to the economy I suppose, the fireworks display didn't last as long as usual, but it didn't disappoint - still a big and booming, colorful light show.

Back at the cabins, Gary and the boys climbed to the upper deck and did some stargazing, following satellites across the sky, and enjoying the balmy summer night.

Then we wrapped up the special day with a warm campfire. Mom & Dad had some good friends, the Sanneruds, drive all the way out from Minnesota for a visit at the cabins - they were a delight to have with us! Here they are, with Dave.

Mom and Dad (Grammy & Papa) smiling in the campfire's glow.

Gordon getting sleepy in the hammock chair.

Grayson - clearly ready for bedtime.

What a nice Independence Day at the cabins!
♥ God bless America! ♥
