Grammy & Papa arrived from Minnesota on Monday, much to our delight!
The boys and I enjoyed a lovely hike with them on Tuesday.

Everyone's ready to go -- even Abi! Let's go see some beautiful mountain scenery!

"Faster, Papa! Faster!"

Gordy's Birthday Cake!

Gordy's request for his birthday theme this year was DINOSAURS!
He picked out a confetti cake mix with chocolate frosting...and here's how it turned out:

Gordy approves of the final product.

Grayson wants in on the action, so he decorated a Ritz cracker with
frosting, sprinkles, and a dinosaur.
Candle lit and cake aglow, Gordy shows off his beautiful, four year old smile.

A brighter shot with flash ~ our handsome, little Gordy!

Make a wish!

Now let's eat it!

Enjoying birthday cake...yum!

Happy 4th Birthday, Gordon Henry!

Four years ago today, we were blessed with our brand new, baby Gordon!

Here he is with his binky at the park, one year old.

All smiles, two years old!

For his third birthday, Gordy got a fishing pole. Here he is, ready to head down to the stream.

And now, just look at our handsome, little, young man -- FOUR YEARS OLD!

WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH, GORDY!

Day Trip to Boise

We hit the town last Wednesday -- our main objective was to look at a house. (It was a lovely house in our price range and right where we'd like to live, but the layout was all wrong ~ hopefully soon, we'll be posting news about our new home).

Before meeting Gary and our realtor at the house, we 'got our wiggles out' at a nearby park.

We love this park...and hope we can buy a house in this neighborhood.

After looking at the house, Gary returned to work while the boys and I did some final shopping for Father's Day and Gary's birthday. We love Fred Meyer for its double steering wheel, "car" shopping carts...and the Spider-Man ride in the entrance.

Grayson attempted a photo op with Spidey also, but got a little spooked by the masked hero, so he opted for the car cart.

Every store should offer shopping carts like this. They make running errands so much easier for Moms!

After shopping, we met Daddy at Red Lobster for some seafood. The boys enjoyed a hands-on meeting with Mr. Red Lobster himself.

Naturally, Gordy now wants a pet lobster.

After shrimp and scallops, Gordy rode home with Gary in the Jeep, and Grayson kept me company....for a little while.

Until he conked out, after a busy and enjoyable day.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day ~ to all the wonderful Dads out there!

We enjoyed a happy, fun-filled day together as a family, celebrating Gary. This afternoon we took a few sand toys and a shovel down to the stream and enjoyed the sandy beach and some sunshine.

Gordy & Grayson love and adore their Daddy ~ and so do I!

Shoes are off and our toes are in the sand.

Digging a big hole in the sand.

Little bare feet ~ I love 'em!

Day with Daddy + sand + sunshine = Happy Father's Day!

Heading down to the stream.... Grayson doesn't hesitate and follows Daddy right in.

Up to our necks in sand...Fun!

We found a caterpillar!

"Mommy, can I have this caterpillar for my birthday?"

(Gordy has been asking for all kinds of animals for his birthday; he's requested a fox, duck, butterfly, puppy, parrot, firefly, turtle -- to name a few).

Abi, Mommy, and Daddy ~ enjoying the day also.

"See the little caterpillar, Grayson?!"

Happiness.

Mommy's turn to try out the sand fort with Grayson.

Gary and the boys cross the stream, and I follow....

Frogs, water, shiny rocks, a lizard, racoon tracks...new adventures everywhere.

What a great Father's Day...for all of us!
