Snapshots from Gordon's 7th Birthday Party

Water balloon toss

Sponge & water race

Gary came up with some great games to help the kids stay cool while having fun!

Greta got right in the middle of the action.

Nicole snapped these photos of me retrieving Greta from one of her attempts to run to the other side of the park.  She's full of energy and spunk!

Three Generations - Mom, Greta, and me.  Greta is wearing a precious necklace my friend Sasha (Jack's mom) made for her.  So adorable!

Watermelon, baby carrots, cheese puffs, crackers, fruit juice, & birthday cake

Gordon was so happy to see his friends.  We kept this party on the smaller side so that the kids could all play together and games could be coordinated more easily.

Gordon has such wonderful friends - a great bunch of kids - including his little brother Grayson, of course.

Brothers - Best Buddies

Pinata Time.

Uncle Joey helped out with the blindfold while Gary held the pinata rope.

Candy everywhere!

Joey & Nicole

Melissa & Tyler

Liz & Roman

Clive, Jesse, Arlo & Nichole

Opening presents -- thanks to all for such thoughtful gifts for Gordon!  Grammy & Papa Schueler and Grandpa Dave & Grandma Myra were also present, I just didn't get specific pictures of them this time.

Jack has been one of Gordy's good friends since they started preschool almost four years ago.

Such a happy baby sister...!

Grammy & Papa brought gifts for all 3 of the kids.

Great friends!

Gordy got this awesome game set from Joey & Nicole -- he loves to play chess and other board games.

Funny mustache collection from Clive - so funny!

Heading home from the park.  We've found that's the best way to avoid pre-party stress and post-party mess.  Have birthday parties in the park.  We'll have to come up with some other strategy when Greta starts having parties in February...?

Can't believe our little Gordon is 7 already!!

Birthday Party Prep

Pinata w/ candy and lemon cake baked, ready to decorate.

Quick morning run to the stores for party supplies.  I stumbled on these gems for Gordy's bug theme:  little bug viewers!

Party favors for the baby guests, Greta & Arlo

Party Supplies -- This year's theme for Gordy -- BUGS!

All set to decorate Gordy's cake.

Gary was in charge of games.  Here he's filling water balloons.

Lemon cake with whipped white frosting and Oreo crumbs to represent dirt.  Now it's time to add some bugs....

Voila!  What 7-year old boy doesn't like a cake covered in dirt, rocks, and insects?

Happy with the results!  Yay!

All set for Gordy's 7th birthday party in the park!
