Mother's Day Weekend in the Mts.

We love "our mountains," as Grayson refers to them. It had been awhile since we'd breathed in that fresh mountain air, so for Mother's Day weekend, we decided to head for the hills Friday evening. For fun, we decided to take the Jeep - which makes for a snug and cozy ride. Abi gets the brunt of that deal.

It was a dark, starry night when we arrived, but on Saturday morning we were welcomed with the beautiful spring backdrop that I just love - the beginning of my favorite time of the year in the mountains.

Such fun, enjoying the giant playground - the forests and mountains around our cabins.

It's great to be back!

We took a nice, long hike. The boys are big enough now to where we can wander and roam without having to tote them in strollers or the wagon.

They had hopes of catching some butterflies, but we didn't see any on Saturday.

We saw lots of elk and deer prints, as well as some wild turkey tracks.

Climbing rocks, enjoying the magnificent view

Feeling the textures all around us

Lots to see - big & small

The boys love climbing on Whale Rock.

The loves of my life.

I'm one happy Mommy, so very blessed.

Taking a break to rest

On Sunday, more outdoor adventures!
(I love this picture!)

So much to explore....

Our little rock hounds, searching for special stones.

Back home after a wonderful weekend, daffodils the boys picked for me brighten up our home and remind us of our fun weekend in the mountains.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!

...And More Special Mail!

Just when you think your birthday fun is over, another package arrives in the mail!
Since Grammy & Papa presented Grayson with his new sandbox over a month ago, Grammy decided she had to send another round of prizes closer to Grayson's birthday.
New t-shirts for both Grayson and Gordon!

Elmo!

Gordon's t-shirt reads, "What happens in preschool, stays in preschool."

Grammy also included a well-loved CD of favorite Sunday School songs. The boys love it and belt out the tunes loud and clear.

Thanks-a-million, Grammy & Papa!! ♥

Special Delivery!

A mysterious box was delivered by Fed Ex a couple days after Grayson's birthday.
Inside the brown box was this golden-wrapped package.

What could it be?!!

Birthday greetings, in a space ship card

And stickers! Yay - it's from Uncle Tony & Auntie Nenny!

Can't...wait...any...longer!

Ooooh. Both boys are eager to discover what's inside.

Smiles.

This looks pretty cool!

I love it!

It's a dune buggy!

And the driver's helmet lights up!

Better test this new toy out!

What a clever and thoughtful gift!

Gordon & Grayson both enjoy the new dune buggy toy.

Grayson exclaims, "THANK YOU SO MUCH, NENNY & TONY!!" ♥
